Long-term complex treatment of drug addiction

Detoxification. It is an important step towards the recovery from physical dependence on psychoactive substances but not the last phase in the way to total abstinence. Further, the maintenance treatment and psychological-social rehabilitation must follow. Three key principles, like these used for the treatment of alcohol addiction, are applied in our Clinic:

1. Early relapse prevention âÀ“ in order the patient would not reinitiate the drug use during the most critical early postdetoxification period. To this end, short-acting or long-acting agents (different forms of naltrexone) may be prescribed to help the patient to abstain from the opioid use.

2. Treatment and correction of the drug-induced effects and complications. Sleeping, anxiety disorders, depression, infectious diseases, vein, soft tissue inflammations, etc. are very common.

3. Personality correction âÀ“ a psychotherapeutic assistance, consultations of social worker, 12-step programmes, participation in narcotics anonymous. Our Clinic offers a long-term outpatient rehabilitation programme, meetings of mutual assistance groups.

Rehabilitation

Our Clinic closely cooperates with many of the national rehabilitation centres. During consultation or treatment in our inpatient unit we can recommend the rehabilitation centre most closely meeting your situation and needs.
